Agroshield range

Range of ternary gas mixtures based on pure argon with additions of carbon dioxide and a small percentage of oxygen. Oxygen focuses the arc and gives a fine spray transfer – it also increases weld pool fluidity to give faster welding. The carbon dioxide improves the penetration and weld fusion.

Based on the application, this range has three products:

Argoshield Light

Developed for welding sheet and thin section mild steel, the benefits are:

  • Fast travel speeds, resulting in minimal distortion;
  • Low spatter levels which help to give a good appearance to the finished weld;
  • Resultant reduction in clean up times and minimisation of defects.

Argoshield Universal

Offers versatility by producing a sound, high quality weld, across a wide range of material thickness. Even when welding conditions are not ideal, excellent results can be achieved with this welder-friendly gas - due to a stable arc and broad heat flow, which gives greater penetration.

Argoshield Heavy

Designed for welding the thickest material and consistently provides reliable, high strength welds.

Higher carbon dioxide content helps promote a deep and wide penetration profile, ensuring high integrity welds with minimal defects.

Stainshield range

Range of Argon based and Argon-Helium based gas mixtures, with small additions of oxygen or carbon dioxide, to give superior welding performance for different grades and thickness of stainless steels. Performs well across a range of applications providing good arc stability in dip, pulse and spray transfer modes.Based on the application, this range has four products:

Stainshield

A general purpose gas for welders using the GMAW process on stainless steel. It offers an economical solution, suitable for many applications over a range of 2 mm to 10 mm stainless steel thickness. It is particularly suitable where minimal spatter and smooth arc is required and it is important to avoid risk of carbon pick-up, which can occur when using an Argon/CO2 mixture.

Stainshield Plus

Versatile three component gas mixture containing high purity argon, carbon dioxide and hydrogen to produce a characteristically clean and bright weld.

Although designed for GMAW pulse and synergic, dip and spray transfer welding of stainless steels over a wide range of material thickness, this gas performs particularly well when welding thinner plate in the dip transfer mode.

Broad operating envelope make Stainshield Plus ideally suited to all commonly used welding power sources - minimal spatter levels and surface oxidation with optimal contour, produce a premium quality weld of good appearance.

Stainshield Universal

Unique three component gas mixture containing, high purity argon, helium and oxygen, designed for pulse, dip and spray transfer welding of stainless steels over a wide range of material thickness.

Alloy losses across the arc during weld metal transfer are minimised, optimising mechanical and corrosion properties. It has been formulated to prevent carbon pick-up and is ideally suited to applications where maximum corrosion resistance is important. The superior performance of this gas in high speed spray and pulsed arc applications make it an economical, high quality choice for all the austenitic stainless and duplex stainless steels.

Stainshield TIG

Mixture of argon and 1.5 % hydrogen, specifically developed for GTAW of austenitic grades of stainless steel. Addition of hydrogen helps to scavenge any atmosphere around the weld area, producing a bright, clean weld with a smooth surface finish. The hydrogen also increases the fluidity of the weld pool making it easier to produce a neat, tidy weld bead. Furthermore, the improved fluidity increases welding speed compared with argon, resulting in lower welding cost.

Specshield range

Argon and argon-helium based mixtures customised for special applications. The gases are designed to give excellent arc stability with very low spatter, giving a smooth and shiny weld bead of outstanding quality.

All Specshield products are controlled formulations, produced and supplied against specific orders only.

Every cylinder of Specshield gas conforms to precision quality standards, and each component has been researched to determine its individual effects on both - the weld pool and the weld metal.

As such, the highest quality of constituent gases, i.e., UHP (ultra high purity) argon and helium, welding grade carbon dioxide and high purity oxygen are used in the production of Specshield mixtures. Extensive research and development has resulted in strictly controlled formulations, designed to provide you with optimum performance.
