- Innovation for fire fighting
Halon is used in fire fighting
equipment. However usage of Halon has a major drawback as it depletes the Ozone layer and
this is being banned globally, similar to ban of CFC by the United Nations. In order to
overcome the crisis BOC speciality gases indigenously developed "Argonite" gas
mixtures strictly as per the international specifications to meet the requirement. This
gas filled at 200 bar in 80 ltr. water capacity cylinders with solenoid valves is now
being produced at BOC SGC, adapted to the new system and tied up with Argonite and Inergen
fire fighting system commissioning agents in India. This is a major achievement in helping
the industry to be inline with the latest environment rules.
- Helping the automobile
industry to meet Euro II norms
BOC Special gases have developed
special calibration gases to help the automobile industry in updating the emission norms
to Euro II. This particular gas mixture provides the industry to have calibration gas
standards with NIST traceability.
- Contributing to export of
Indian sweets
BOC Special Gases has developed
extra high purity Nitrogen gas for the packaging industry for exporting sweets to
different countries. This particular process gas increases the shelf life of the product
considerably and thus ensures the freshness the taste of the product. This has resulted in
help to Indian sweet exporters in competing the other world players.
- Cutting solutions through
laser mixtures
To have impeccable finish of cut
with accurate speed, modern engineering industry employs laser cutting method where BOC
supplies premixed laser mixtures, developed indigenously. This has helped the Indian
industry to compete globally. This laser gas is also used by organizations like ITC Ltd.,
for laser marking on packaging.
BOC's Eximer laser gas is being used
in foolproof microsurgery for retina and thus has upgraded the eye care treatment.
